The sound of metal locks echo as Anko shouts , “The test begins now! Survive, and get both scrolls within five days!” Naruto gulps , “F-five days?! In there?!” Sakura mutters , “We’re seriously gonna die…” Sasuke calmly steps forward , “Stop whining. We need to find another team fast.” The trio pushes into the dense jungle. The forest is dark, filled with buzzing insects and distant growls. Naruto shivers, whispering , “Man, this place is like a nightmare…” Sakura elbows him , “Keep your voice down! You’ll give away our position.” Sasuke raises a hand , “Quiet. Something’s watching us.” Suddenly, a squirrel rustles in the bushes. Naruto leaps back, screaming , “AHHH! Episode 24: Start Your Engines: The Chūnin Exam Begins! Release Date: March 27, 2003 The rookies gather outside after surviving the written test. Naruto throws his arms up, yelling , “Ha! I told you I’d pass! Piece of cake!” Sakura snaps at him , “You didn’t even answer one question, idiot!” Naruto pouts , “Hey, I still made it, didn’t I? That’s what counts!” Sasuke smirks faintly but says nothing. Suddenly, a loud voice cuts through the air. Anko Mitarashi leaps into the scene, grinning wildly. She shouts , “Listen up brats! I’m your next examiner — and you’d better pray you survive!” Naruto stumbles back, pointing at her , “Wh-what the heck?! The leader, Kabuto, smiles politely. Kabuto introduces himself , “Name’s Kabuto Yakushi. I’ve been through the Chūnin Exams seven times.” Naruto gasps , “Seven times?!” Sakura whispers nervously , “So he’s really experienced…” Kabuto shows them his special info cards. He explains , “I’ve gathered intel on every ninja participating.” He reveals data on Gaara, Rock Lee, and others. Naruto shouts excitedly , “Whoa! These guys sound tough!
