Episode 18: The Weapons Known as Shinobi

  • Kakashi charges forward, Chidori crackling in his hand.

  • Zabuza readies his massive blade to counter.

  • At the last second, Haku flashes in front of Zabuza.

  • Naruto’s eyes widen, “No—don’t!!”

  • Kakashi's strike pierces through Haku's chest.

  • Lightning explodes, blood sprays, and Haku collapses silently.

  • Kakashi gasps, realizing, “He… he protected Zabuza…”

  • Zabuza’s eyes widen in shock, then narrow coldly.

  • Naruto arrives, shouting angrily at Zabuza.

  • Naruto yells, “He gave his life for you! And you don’t even care?!”

  • Zabuza turns away, muttering, “He was just a tool. Nothing more.”

  • Naruto’s fists clench, shaking.

  • He screams, “Shut up! Don’t you dare talk about him like that! Haku was a person, not a tool! He cared about you more than anyone!!”

  • Zabuza pauses for a moment, hiding his true feelings.

  • Kakashi glares, “Naruto… calm down. We’re still in battle.”

  • Suddenly, new voices echo across the bridge.

  • A group of thugs led by Gato, the crime lord, appear.

  • Gato smirks, “Well, well… looks like you’ve all done my dirty work for me.”

  • Zabuza narrows his eyes at Gato.

  • He growls, “What do you mean?”

  • Gato laughs, “I never intended to pay you. Now that you’re injured and weak, I’ll just let my men kill you, and I’ll take the bridge for myself.”

  • Zabuza grips his sword tightly, furious.

  • Naruto shouts at him, “See?! Haku gave his life for you, and this is how you’re treated!”

  • Naruto’s voice cracks with rage and sorrow, “He trusted you… and you just used him!”

  • Zabuza finally lowers his head, silent.

  • Kakashi watches him carefully.

  • Naruto steps closer, voice trembling, “He loved you like family… and you never even acknowledged it. Doesn’t that make you feel anything at all?”

  • For the first time, Zabuza’s expression softens.

  • He whispers under his breath, “…Enough, brat.”

  • But his eyes glisten with hidden emotion.

  • Gato laughs mockingly, kicking Haku’s lifeless body.

  • He sneers, “What a useless kid. Just trash on the road.”

  • Everyone freezes — Naruto, Kakashi, even the thugs — as Zabuza clenches his fists.

  • Tears stream down his cheeks, hidden behind rage.

  • Zabuza growls, “…Don’t you dare touch him.”

  • The episode ends with Zabuza charging through Gato’s men, enraged and determined to avenge Haku.
